JoEllen Gorg is the Acting Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General Lagos, Nigeria. She is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and has served overseas in the Federated States of Micronesia, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sierra Leone as well as on detail to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. She is a native of Oregon and has a BA from Carleton College, an MA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and a MS from National Defense University. Before joining the Foreign Service, she was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal.
