Susan Watkins grows soybeans, corn and wheat in Sutherland, Virginia. Susan has two sons, Nick and Cody, and two grandsons Luke and Maxwell. Cody farms alongside Susan and is the eighth generation to farm on original land granted to the Watkins family from the King of England in the 1700’s. Nick recently moved back home to be closer to family and works for a global real estate company managing Google facilities. Luke and Baby Maxwell are young, but love being outside and busy on the farm. 

Susan is an active member of her local community. She has served as a chairperson for the local Farm Service Agency office and represented Dinwiddie County as a member of the South Centre Corridors Resource. She is a former vice chair for the Virginia Soybean Board. 

This is Susan’s sixth year on the board, and she is a member of the Executive Committee and is serving as Secretary and Demand Action Team Lead.
