Vijay leads the India SEC which is a flagship workforce development initiative of the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) aimed at building next-generation managers and technical leaders across the agri-food value chain. In addition to leading India SEC, he works closely with the Global SEC team, where he contributes to curriculum design, digital learning frameworks, and community content development. Vijay brings over two decades of experience with the U.S. Soy industry, having joined USSEC in 2004. He initially served as Aquaculture Lead for South Asia, where he played a key role in advancing modern aquaculture practices, and later took on broader leadership responsibilities spanning poultry, dairy, and integrated soy value chains. His work has consistently focused on strengthening demand building, technical capacity, promoting data-driven decision-making, and building industry-ready talent. Prior to his tenure with USSEC, for about a decade, Vijay managed profit centers and led teams in leading feed milling and animal pharmaceutical companies. He began his professional journey in shrimp aquaculture at Waterbase Ltd., gaining hands-on experience in farm operations and production systems. He holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Fisheries and Animal Sciences from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India and a Ph.D. from Cochin University of Science and Technology.
