Dr. Erkan ŞEN graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Uludağ University in 2004. He began his professional career by taking part in the establishment of one of Turkey’s first large-scale feedlot operations, with a capacity of 25,000 head, where he served as Chief Veterinarian for three years.
He then spent one year working as a veterinarian in New Zealand, gaining extensive practical experience in pasture-based dairy cattle nutrition and management. Upon returning to Turkey, he commenced his PhD studies in the Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases at Uludağ University and successfully completed his doctoral degree in 2017.
In 2011, Dr. ŞEN founded his own company, providing consultancy services in the fields of animal nutrition and feed additives. He currently serves as Technical Director of the company, providing consultancy to large-scale dairy and beef cattle operations and feed mills across Turkey.
In addition to his consultancy activities, he provides R&D services to companies operating in the fields of animal nutrition, commercial feed production, and robotic milking systems. His professional expertise encompasses ruminant nutrition, feed additive applications, commercial feed formulation, and the development of innovative nutritional solutions for modern livestock production systems.
