With over 18 years of experience in Morocco’s agro-food industry, Lhoussaine Oubouyahia is a
recognized executive leader in poultry production and vertical integration. Holding a PhD in Veterinary Sciences (IAV Hassan II, Rabat), a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine — DVM (IAV
Hassan II, Rabat), and an MBA from Montpellier Business School, France, he combines deep
scientific expertise with sharp strategic vision.

Since 2025, he has served as Executive Chairman of the Upstream Division and Deputy CEO at Zalar Holding, one of Morocco’s largest agro-industrial conglomerates. In this role, he
oversees roughly ten operational subsidiaries, manages a turnover of approximately 10 billion dirhams, and leads a workforce of over 3,500 employees.

Throughout his career at Zalar Holding, Lhoussaine has held progressively senior roles - Technical Director, Deputy General Manager, and General Manager of vertical integration (live production, slaughtering and processing division). He has overseen the management of 75 farms, the annual production of 65 million broiler chicks, and the processing of 45,000 tonnes of poultry meat (turkey and chicken).

A hands-on leader as much as a strategist, he has driven international expansion projects across sub-Saharan Africa, led quality certification programs (ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, Halal Label), and managed merger and acquisition operations. He also serves as President of AFAC and Vice-President of FISA, reflecting his deep commitment to Morocco’s national poultry sector.
