Dr. Ibrahim El Idrissi is a Moroccan veterinarian and poultry-nutrition specialist with more than thirty years of experience. He serves as Head of Strategic R&D for Sahel’s fully integrated poultry operation, which spans the entire chain — from a hatchery producing 1.2 million chicks per week through to the slaughterhouse. He has been part of the Alf Sahel feed mill since its founding in 2003, helping scale output from 10,000 to more than 120,000 metric tons of feed per month.

He dedicates 90% of his work to poultry nutrition, formulating beyond least-cost optimization toward gut health, gizzard development, and cecal fermentation. His approach draws on the strategic use of total dietary fiber — both soluble and insoluble — and on the dynamic starch–protein concept.

Alongside the feed mill, he advises leading Moroccan hatcheries and serves as Visiting Professor of avian pathology and management at the National School of Agriculture in Meknes. His academic path spans three continents, including a veterinary degree from the Hassan II Institute in Rabat, specialist diplomas in poultry health and production from the National Veterinary School of Nantes, a certificate in ruminant nutrition from the University of Sydney, and an Executive MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia.
