
Dr. Basilisa Reas

Dr Basilisa P. Reas (Neneth) is a graduate of Veterinary Science and Medicine at Central Luzon State University, Philippines, and Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine major in Monogastric Nutrition from the University of Queensland in Australia. She also completed International Courses on Pig Husbandry and Feed Technology at Barneveld College, the Netherlands. She also received short course diploma on Quality Assurance from Khon Kaen University, Thailand and on Extrusion short course from Texas A&M university. She worked in commercial swine farms for four years before joining the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry where she worked as Training Specialist for eight years. Dr Reas has been with ASA/USSEC since 1998 and currently holds the position of Southeast Asia Regional Technical Director for Animal Protein. She is also a member of the USSEC Global Research Committee who is tasks to propose and review research related to soybean and soy products. To date, Dr Reas has done more than 25 feeding demonstrations on comparing different SBM sources and use of Full fat SBM and Soy Protein Concentrates in both pigs and poultry and other nutritional commodities. Dr. Reas is a two-term President of the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PhilSAN) and the current President of the Philippine College of Veterinary Feed Practitioners where she is a Charter Fellow since 1998. She is also an active member and a diplomate of the Philippine College of Poultry Practitioners (PCPP). Neneth is a recipient of the Outstanding Veterinarian Award in Animal Nutrition practice by the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), and Outstanding alumna of Central Luzon State University and College of Veterinary Science and Medicine in CLSU, Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija Philippines. In 2018, Dr. Reas was also honored by the CLSU College of Veterinary Medicine for her Outstanding Role as a Veterinarian-Nutritionist. In October 2019, Dr. Reas received the highest award of being the Outstanding Animal Nutritionist by the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PHILSAN). In March 2022, Neneth was awarded the USSEC Core Values award for 2021.

Dr. Benito Oliveros

Dr. Oliveros received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Master of Science major in Animal Science from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). He got his Doctor of Philosophy major in Animal Science with specialization in Ruminant Nutrition from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, U.S.A. Dr. Oliveros served the University of the Philippines Los Baños as faculty member from 1977 to 1998 teaching animal nutrition courses and serving as adviser to undergraduate and graduate students. In 1996, he joined Roche Philippines, Inc as an Animal Nutrition Manager and in 1997 he was assigned as Regional Technical Manager to provide technical support to sales and marketing of vitamins, enzymes and carotenoids in Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. With the acquisition of DSM of the vitamin business of Roche in 2003, Dr. Oliveros continued his service to DSM Nutritional Products Philippines until 2013. In 2014, he was assigned as Regional Technical Manager for Carbohydrase of DSM Nutritional Products Asia Pacific Ltd. Pte. until his retirement in July 2016. He continued his service with DSM as consultant until 2017. He is also a consultant to Equalivet Inc., a company distributing feed additives and Vision 2000 Feedmill Corp. Currently, Dr. Oliveros is the In-Country Representative for Philippines of United States Soybean Export Council (USSEC). Dr. Oliveros’ fields of interest are vitamin nutrition, enzymes in animal nutrition, feed formulation and feed technology. In recognition of his work as animal nutritionist, Dr. Oliveros received the PSAS Outstanding Animal Nutritionist Award given by the Philippine Society of Animal Science in 2010, the PHILSAN Outstanding Animal Nutritionist Award given by the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists in 2015 and a Plaque of Recognition as Pillar of Animal Nutrition given by the Institute of Animal Science UPLB in 2017.

Dr. Rhona Niña Reyes
Technical Consultant - Philippines

Dr. Rhona Niña Reyes is currently the Technical Consultant for the Philippines at USSEC-SEA. Prior to her current role, she worked with a feed formulation software company and acted as Regional Technical Manager to provide technical support and help develop business in the Asia Pacific region. She also held position as nutritionist and consultant to different companies in the Philippines and Vietnam involved in feed milling vitamin and mineral premixes production, base mix production, and marketing and distribution of various feed additives. Dr. Reyes obtained her Straight PhD degree in Animal Science major in Animal Nutrition and minor in Biochemistry and her BS Agriculture major in Animal Science degree at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Her dissertation work was focused on energy determination and prediction of energy and amino acid concentration of different feed ingredients.

Mr. Jerico Rod S. Calibo, MSc
Regional Project and Technical Support

Mr. Jerico Rod S. Calibo is currently the Regional Technical Support and consultant to the U.S. Soybean Export Council SEA. With his capability to provide technical assistance, he coordinates and works closely with Southeast Asia and Oceania to provide technical guidance and assistance for USSEC's regional and in-country programs. He has extensive working experience in feed mill operations, research, farm operations, technical services, and feed formulations. Prior to this role, Jerico started his decade of professional career as Research and Development Officer and Senior Animal Nutritionist for Universal Robina Corp in the Philippines. He was recognized for his efforts in achieving growth and success in terms of research, farm productivity, and government regulatory affairs. He responsibly covered the Philippines and provided technical support to farmers and animal raisers. A licensed agriculturist, he obtained his bachelor's degree in Agriculture Major in Animal Science and master's degree in Animal Science in the University of the Philippines Los Banos. He received Outstanding Leadership award and honors from the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture. Jerico joined 3 national organizations (PHILSAN, PSAS, PAA) in the Philippines to contribute technical knowledge and skills in the field of animal science and to advocate in the development of sustainable agriculture.

Dr. Joyce Cruz
Veterinary Nutrition Consultant, JBC Veterinary Nutrition Consultant
Marie Josephine Milagros B. Cruz (Joyce) is a graduate of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of the Philippines and obtained undergraduate credit units in Animal Nutrition at UPLB. Attended short course in Texas A&M on Extrusion Technology and have also attended various international and local scientific animal nutrition conferences. Joyce is a past President of the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PHILSAN) and the Philippine College of Poultry Practitioners Inc. (PCPP). She is also an active member of the Philippine College of Veterinary Feed Practice Inc (PCVFP). Joyce is a recipient of the Outstanding Veterinarian Award in Animal Nutrition Practice by the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA). Joyce have worked with Golden Country Farms Inc, General Milling Corporation, Japfa Comfeeds Vietnam and Zagro Singapore, before finally moving to Bounty Fresh Food Inc (BFFI) until 2023. At BFFI, Joyce’s main duties include servicing Bounty Farms (Layers), Bounty Progeny (Poultry Breeders), Global Essential Foods Inc. (Swine) and Inoza Industries (Commercial Feeds and Animal Health Products). Currently, she is a technical consultant for Bounty Plus Inc. and a project head for Bounty Cares Foundation Inc.

Engr. Conrado Bulanhagui
Technical Consultant, Food & Agro-Industrial Facilities Projects
Engr. Conrado Bulanhagui (Don) has been involved in the feed milling industry for the past 37 years in various capacities as production supervisor, maintenance engineer, plant manager, project director, and technical consultant. He graduated from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) in 1986 with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and topped the 1987 national board licensure examinations. His passion and advocacy are to help small and medium-sized feed mills attain a level of efficiency for them to be more competitive in their own playing field.
He has trained feed mill personnel in the areas of production, maintenance, quality control, inventory management, cost control, plant design and project management
